Personal History: At the end of the second war Fleur and Bill returned to live at Shell Cottage. At first they were very busy, moving toward a sense of normalcy and peace that their relationship and marriage had never known outside the bounds of war. Fleur did what she could to help her husband cope with the loss of his younger brother, Fred. The couple discovered a closeness they had never before known and for a time they were blissfully happy.

Both Fleur and Bill worked diligently at Gringotts to facilitate vault recovery so that the Wizarding economy could make a resurgence. After the collapse of the bank’s foundation in the summer of 1999 the couple decided together that Gringotts was no longer a safe place for Fleur to work and she quit her job to eventually become a stay-at-home witch because Bill and Fleur decided to begin trying to conceive and finally start a family.

Well, conception did not take long (give me a break…one’s a Weasley and the other’s a Veela!) and their first daughter, Victoire Isabelle, was born on Victory Day (May 2nd) in 2000.

But all was not bliss in their home. After the final collapse of Gringotts when Fleur stopped working, Bill began working longer hours at the bank as the British Wizarding World desperately attempted to make a financial recovery. Bill felt more and more pressure from the Ministry to work diligently on vault salvage. Fleur also began pressuring him to spend time with her through her pregnancy and once Victoire was born, with his family. As Witches and Wizards began to go missing or turn up murdered, Fleur began becoming more and more nervous for her husband’s safety and often told him so.

During this time the couple began fighting quite often. They were financially stable in spite of the shattered economy due to the demand for Bill’s curse-breaking services. Fleur found herself alone with her daughter more and more often as society became more and more unstable and demand for her husband and his talents grew. She wanted Bill to runaway with her and Victoire, away from the rest of the world, and be close like they once were. It hurt Fleur to think that her husband was choosing the rest of the Wizarding World over her and Victoire.

Fleur was on the verge of giving Bill an ultimatum: change his life and choose her and Victoire over the rest of the world or she would take their daughter and leave him.

Losses during the war: her brother-in-law, Fred Weasley and numerous friends in the Order of the Phoenix
